An ars poetica G20? We have a power house Group of 20+ on stage for Rampike June 24

Join us this Thursday, June 24, 8 pm at the Black Swan, 154 Danforth, as we celebrate the launch of the “Cultural Mischief” issue of Rampike Magazine.

Rampike & livewords present a “G20″ of poetics in a very political week (yeah apparently there is something going on downtown too, President of Brazil and some others too).

We have a power house of Group of 20+ on stage:

Gary Barwin, Greg Betts, Clara Blackwood, Margaret Christakos, Frank Davey, Adam Dickinson, John Donlan, Claudio Gaudio, Karl Jirgens, Jim Johnstone, Babar Khan, rob mclennan, Desi di Nardo, Edward Nixon, Concetta Principe, Jenny Sampirisi, Lara Solnicki, Lindsay Tipping, Myna Wallin, and Richard Underhill . . .

Following the readings of 19 solo + Betts & Barwin, we will have a short musical set starting at 10:30 pm featuring: Richard Underhill (Shuffle-Demon founder) & members of the “Free Spirit” ensemble with:

livewords welcomes Heather Cadsby, Sandy Pool and a. rawlings to read on Thursday January 28th at the Black Swan, 154 Danforth Avenue, just east of Broadview (map). Readings commence at 8 p.m.


We are please to note that musician Joe Sorbara will be performing with Angela Rawlings:

Joe Sorbara has developed a reputation as a diverse and musical presence on Toronto’s growing creative improvised music scene as a drummer and percussionist, composer, improviser, organizer and educator. Joe’s own projects include the seven-or-more-tet, Other Foot First, and the Pickle Juice Orchestra. He co-leads a number of ensembles including the Remnants Trio (with Evan Shaw and Ken Aldcroft) and a duo with corporeal mime Julie Lassonde. Joe performs on a regular basis with the AIMToronto Orchestra, Ronda Rindone’s Quorum, Ken Aldcroft’s Convergence Ensemble.
